Data Explanation:
1. Assigned hours distributed from month Feb08 to Aug08, to all three resources Dustin Kassman, Ed Lee and Ken Winston for RM_ Project1.
2. RM_Project2 is only assigned to resource Ed lee in month April08.
3. Total assigned hours for RM_Project1 and month Feb to Aug is same as declared in sample data Assignment. And For RM_Project2 it is also same.
4. For resource 'Dustin Kassman', he has three task (Summary: Widget X, Specification and Implementation) which is started from month feb08.
He is assigned 50% so he will work 4Hrs (50% of 8hr or total working hr in a day) in a day. Now,
• Total work in task 'Summary: Widget X' is 199Hrs (4Feb to 15Apr) and in Feb08 (4Feb to 29Feb, total 20 days to work) it is 20*4 = 80Hrs only.
• Total work in task 'Specification ' is 29Hrs (4Feb to 13Feb) and in Feb08 it is all 29 Hrs.
• Total work in task 'Implementation' is 49Hrs (23Feb to 12Mar) and in Feb (23Feb to 29Feb08, total 5 days to work) it is 5*4 = 20Hrs only.
Therefore in Month Feb08 Resource 'Dustin Kassman' has to work 129Hrs (80Hrs + 29Hrs + 20Hrs) for RM_Project1, which is displaying in Grid for the resource. And if we click on the link 129 we will see task detail of these 3 tasks only.
Similarly if we see it for month march there will be four tasks which are come in March for RM_Project1.
• Total work in task 'Summary: Widget X' is 119Hrs (1Mar08 to 14Apr08, Feb08 task is subtracted) and in Mar08 (1Mar to 31Mar, total 21 days to work) it is 21*4 = 84Hrs only.
• Total work in task 'Concept' is 10Hrs (26Mar08 to 2Apr08) and in Mar08 (26Mar to 31Mar, total 3 days to work) it is 3*4 = 12Hrs which is more than total work so it is 10Hrs only for March month.
• Total work in task 'Implementation' is 29Hrs (1Mar08 to 12Mar08, Feb task is subtracted) and in Mar08 (1Mar08 to 12Mar08, total 8 days to work) it is 8*4 = 32Hrs which is more than total work so it is 29Hrs only for March month.
• Total work in task 'Evaluation' is 22 Hrs (28Mar08 to 14Apr08) and in Mar08 (28Mar to 31Mar, total 2 days to work) it is 2*4 = 8Hrs only.
Therefore in Month March Resource ‘Dustin Kassman’ has to work 131Hrs (84Hrs + 10Hrs + 29Hrs + 8Hrs) for RM_Project1, which is displaying in Grid for the resource. And if we click on the link 131 we will see task detail of these 4 tasks only.
The same calculation procedure is followed for all month and all resources assignments calculation in this report.
