Deploying Project.net in a Production Environment
A production installation of Project.net consists of a combination of servers and software. The main component is an application server running either Tomcat or WebLogic Application Server; this is where the Project.net application will reside. Partnered with this is an Oracle database server. Both are fronted by a web server (optional for 8.3) and supported by a mail (SMTP) server, document vault (file server) and LDAP server (optional). You can use Windows, Linux or a combination as the operating systems for these servers. If you are running 8.2 and a Linux-based application server you will also need a Windows system to import Microsoft Project files. Most likely, you already have existing mail and file servers that Project.net can use.
